Origin Story
Different, Not Broken didn’t start out as a network. It barely started out as a podcast.
Lauren “L2” Howard reluctantly began hosting Different, Not Broken as part of the launch of another company. To her, it was a means to an end — for the business only. Except, within just a few months, it had developed a life and following all its own.
People resonated with the message and the way that it was delivered. As more experts filled guest spots, L2 was sure they deserved their own spaces, not a piece of hers.
What she thought was the concept for one new show became two, then three, then a whole network. It spans YouTube and all podcast platforms.
It’s expert content delivered in ways that make sense to everyone and designed to build familiarity through community and diverse voices.

Everyone calls her L2. She was the second Lauren on a team, and it just stuck.
In March 2021, L2 left the job she planned to retire at because something just wasn’t right. Through that journey, she discovered that so many professionals felt the same way — unsatisfied, unfulfilled, and unappreciated in their roles.
The problem wasn’t them. It was that people are taught to take their worth from the opinions of others rather than inherently believing they are worth all of it and more.
Today, she runs a digital health consulting company focused on telehealth, and she founded elletwo — a platform for professionals to speak their truth and find their power. She is also the founder of the Different Not Broken network, where she hosts her own show, You're Not Too Much. This isn’t about fitting into corporate molds. It’s about showing up as a whole person, cracks and all, until they don’t need a group about the experiences of professionals. They’re just professionals.
